Prof C.O. Onyebuchi Chukwu, a former Minister of Health of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (April 2010 to October 2014), is a professor and practising consultant orthopaedic surgeon, with extensive experience in institutional and public health administration spanning over 35 years, and has been a major player in global health in the last 11 years. He is a member of the United Nations One Health Global Leaders Group on Antimicrobial Resistance and a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the International College of Surgeons.
